Unanswered Questions:

Since the FDA covers food as well as medicine, it has been claimed that the food industry is including ingredients intended to make people fat and/or addicted to the food. Many conspiracy theorists find it odd that Europeans eat full-fat diets of bread, dairy, meat and desserts and yet they are thin and healthy. Additionally, when we gain weight from corn-fed beef and high fructose corn syrup, we pay for expensive gym memberships and diet programs which in turn, stimulates the economy.
Theorists also point to the willingness of the FDA to approve medications with serious and sometimes even fatal side effects as proof that the FDAs primary interest is not the health of US citizens. Some people even think that it may be an attempt at population control by the government.
Conspire.com Judgment: While there isn’t much proof to support the claims of an FDA conspiracy, there have certainly been poor decisions made throughout the years. We at Conspire.com are chalking this up to the all-too-common failure of a bureaucratic system. Medications get approved in haste because there are literally thousands of medications submitted for approval each year. Are their pharmaceutical lobbyists shoving bills in the back pockets of the FDA? Probably. Is the government approving fatal drugs as a means of population control? Probably not.

Theory:

Conspire.com Judgment: Conspire.com concludes that the science just doesn’t add up in the Warren Commission reports and that there most certainly was a second gunman on the infamous grassy knoll. And although John Kennedy was a polarizing figure and many groups would have been personally invested in his demise, there is still zero evidence that Oswald, or the second gunman, were hired by the government or someone else to assassinate the president.

Theory:

Facts: A 2006 poll found that 42% of Americans believed that the government and the 9/11 commission “concealed or refused to investigate critical evidence that contradicts their official explanation of the September 11th attacks.” An independent group launched a massive investigation in 2005 that found the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) did not have a history of having fighter jets prepared to intercept aircraft that had gone off route.

Unanswered Questions: Many conspiracy theorists do not understand how the American military was unable to intercept no less than four planes that had gone suspiciously off route. Also, there has never been an independent inquiry into the events of 9/11 despite two years of repeated attempts by the families of the victims of 9/11.This is one of the reasons why conspiracy theorists believe there was a government cover up. Theorists also point to the fact that both the President and Vice-President took extraordinary measures to limit any investigations into the events of 9/11. The steel from the Twin Towers was also shipped out of the country before an investigation could be performed and the NTSB never held inquiries into the four plane crashes as required by law; and the FBI is withholding the data from the flight records. It’s been said that the World Trade Center towers came down as a result of planted explosives, that a plane didn’t crash into the Pentagon, and that Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania because it was shot down — a theory that was only fueled when Donald Rumsfeld accidentally said during a 2004 speech that terrorists shot it down.

Many experts also agree that the towers could not have collapsed from the force of an aircraft alone or the fire from an exploding aircraft. No steel structure in history has collapsed due to fire because the maximum temperature of a kerosene fire is insufficient to melt steel.

Theorists point to the Project for the New American Century, a conservative think tank that argues for increased American global leadership, whose former members include ex-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Vice President Dick Cheney and several other key Bush administration figures. A 1990 report from the group stated that “some catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor” would be needed to budge public opinion in their favor.

Ideas: The government needed a catastrophic event to generate public support for militarization, expansion of the police state, and other intrusive foreign and domestic policies by which they would benefit. The Patriot Act followed after the 9/11 events, and the War on Freedom began.

Conspire.com Judgment: While it’s nearly unimaginable to think that the United States government could be behind the killing of more than 3,000 innocent citizens on September 11 for political gain, the fact is that the United States and every major country in the world has done so in the name of war. The fact remains that there are many unanswered questions surrounding the events of 9/11 and we at Conspire.com are leaving our minds very, very open to the idea that a cover-up could have taken place. Sadly, conspiracy or not, between military men and women and Iraqi and Afghan citizens, an estimated 919,967 have been killed since the War on Terror began in 2003 based on the lowest credible estimates.

Theory:

Facts: On July 2, 1947 something large and silver plowed into the desert near Roswell, New Mexico; many witnesses corroborate this fact, but what it was, is as of yet unknown. The United States military claims it was an experimental research balloon, but conspiracy theorists claim it was something more extraterrestrial. The military took immediate interests in the object and its wreckage and flew a team out to clean up the mess salvage every bit of evidence that the crash had every happened. The men were told not to talk to the press, but before the order could reach everyone, a press release from the government announced that a “flying disc” had been found.

The UFO saga began a few days earlier when a businessman and aviator named Kenneth Arnold reported chasing “bobbing and weaving” objects with his private plane. He described the objects as “saucer-shaped”; the Air Force said that what Arnold had pursued was a “mirage”.

Unanswered Questions: Many conspiracy theorists think something of significance happened near Roswell, New Mexico simply by its omission in military documents. The Air Force keeps a record of all supposed UFO sightings and their scientific explanations in what’ called the “Blue Book” files. Mysteriously missing is the incident at Roswell. Hundreds of documents were obtained via the Freedom of Information Act, including the Majestic-12 documents, although many have yet to be authenticated. Hundreds of witnesses have also been interviewed in the years since the crash that claim to have seen the crash firsthand or debris from the crash, but many of these “witnesses” seem to have been repeating the same stories of others and most of their accounts don’t hold water. There are only a handful of actual, authenticated witnesses.

Ideas: There was also a supposed elite team of intelligence officers nicknames the Majestic-12 that researched and recorded the findings at Roswell, and theorists claim it is the proof that we are not alone. Supposedly the Majestic-12 Documents report finding “extraterrestrial biological entities” two miles from the crash site. According to some accounts, two of the aliens were still alive and one even put up a struggle. Both were taken back to Area 51 for further research. The only problem is that the Majestic-12 documents have never been authenticated.

Conspire.com Judgment: There is a lot of complex and oftentimes misleading “evidence” relating to the UFOs at Roswell conspiracy theory. We at Conspire.com believe there may be something to the idea the government and US military is withholding information, although we’re not sure that it relates to a UFO. The bottom line is that the mystery of the crash at Roswell has never been satisfactorily explained, so we’re leaving this one open for further investigation in the hopes that ne and concrete evidence will emerge in the future.

Facts: Microchipping first began in 1983 and was sued for monitoring fisheries. Today it is widely used by zoos, in home pets, lab animals, tracking endangered wildlife, automobiles and more. In 2004 the first microchip was approved by the FDA for use in humans. The FDA approved version is called VeriChip and is a human-implantable radio-frequency identification (RFID) microchip. VeriChip was originally intended for identify verification purposes, such as assisting people with Alzheimer disease or tracing children. Human microchipping is already in progress; millions of military personnel around the world have been implanted with VeriChip for “security reasons” and some fundamentalist politicians are suggesting prisoners be microchipped for “security reasons; some even go so far as to suggest all newborn babies be microchipped.

Unanswered Questions: There is no evidence that the government has used of intends to use microchipping as a means of control, although it’s apt to become a hot button issue in the future as technology becomes even more advanced. Proponents of microchipping claim it will only be used beneficial in helping healthcare providers in emergency situations or for national security reasons.

Ideas: Conspiracy theorists fear misuse of the human microchip by the government that could lead to an increased loss of civil liberties and freedom. The microchip would also need to be unencrypted, which means anyone would have access to your information if they had a microchip reader, no authorization required. Some theorists believe that innocent civilians have actually already been microchipped against their wishes for “security reasons”.

Conspire.com Judgment: While there’s no evidence to indicate the government intends to microchip its citizens as a means of control, we are still fundamentally against microchipping humans, whether for healthcare concerns, missing children or prisoners. Governments have a tendency to misuse and abuse their power so we’re not willing to give them the opportunity.

Theory:

Facts: The theory finds its basis in the Gospel of Philip from the Gnostic Gospels, which were discovered in 1945 and whose authenticity religious experts still dispute. In the Gospel of Philip, Mary Magdalene, who is referred to as Jesus’ koinonos, a Greek term for “companion” or “partner,” is depicted as being closer to Jesus than any other apostle. In the Gnostic Gospels and exchange happens between Mary and Peter when he admits that “the Savior loved you above all other women”.

The Gnostic Gospels are early Christian writings containing many secrets of the early Christian religion and were found in Upper Egypt, a location where many Christians fled during the Roman invasion of Jerusalem. Undisturbed since their concealment almost two thousand years ago, these manuscripts of Christian mysticism rank in importance with the Dead Sea Scrolls. These writings affirmed the existence of the doctrine of reincarnation being taught among the early Jews and Christians. The discovery in 1945 yielded writings that included some long lost gospels, some of which were written earlier than the known gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The Christian Gnostics emphasized spiritual knowledge rather blind faith as the road to salvation.

Unanswered Questions: The church still denies the authenticity of any of the Gnostic Gospels, especially the Gospel of Mary or the Gospel of Philip. The only other Biblical evidence to support this conspiracy theory is the repeated mention of Jesus kissing Mary often, but some say kissing was the custom and typical of Jesus to practice with those close to him/ (Judas ring a bell?)

Ideas: The Church is hiding the secret or (original) royal bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. If the Gnostic Gospels are authentic and Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, the entire doctrine of the Church practiced for thousands of years is undermined.

Conspire.com Judgment: We at Conspire.com are absolute believers in the Gnostic Gospels; they’re just as credible as the more widely accepted Gospels of John and Mark (if you could call them credible). It is certainly probable that Jesus was married and had children, although proving that his bloodline is still lingering around today is unlikely, but what about that makes it inherently un-Biblical we don’t know. The Church is forever guilty of refusing to evolve when new evidence contradicts acts their 2,000 year old theories.

Theory:

Facts: On the evening of December 6, 1941 United States military officials intercepted a message from the Japanese that said “higashi no kaze ame” which means “east wind, rain”. The military had already cracked the code of the Japanese and knew that this term referred to war with the United States. What’s unclear about the message is if it was ever properly relayed through the appropriate channels up to the President. Conspiracy theorists believe that President Roosevelt did receive this message, knew that it meant impending war with the United States, and that he then did nothing. He had previously campaigned for entry into World War II and both Congress and the public were against it; but if there was an attack on American soil, the opinion of the public and Congress would quickly change.

Within a week of the December 7^th attack on Pearl Harbor, a committee was formed to investigate the event. The committee followed the intercepted message through many channels but then it dead ends. It’s unknown whether the message reached the President and he in fact did nothing on purpose, or if the message was overlooked or disregarded before it had time to reach the president. Marshall and Stark, supreme commanders in the U.S. Army, testified that the message was disregarded because so many messages came through about the Japanese that another one would only confuse them. Two commanding officers were even forced to retire and subject to public ridicule for overlooking the message that forwarded of the attack. Many commanding officers who recall seeing the message on that night in 1941 have since recanted their testimony to the commission saying that their memories of the message and its ultimate destination are hazy.

Unanswered Questions: Three days before the attack on Pearl Harbor Australian Intelligence purportedly spotted the Japanese fleet of aircraft carriers headed for Hawaii and warned Washington. Whether the aircraft were actually seen by Australian Intelligence, whether the information was relayed, and whether or not it reached the president is not known. A British double agent also supposedly learned of the intentions of the Japanese and warned Washington, to no avail. Because so many intelligence documents are classified top secret, the exact details of the events leading up to Pearl Harbor is not known.

Ideas: It was widely believed that President Roosevelt wanted to enter World War II and send soldiers to Europe. So why would an attack by the Japanese give Roosevelt the opportunity to go to war with Germany? At that time Germany, Italy and Japan were involved in the Tripartite Pact, in which one of these countries was to aid another in defense. Therefore, war with Japan also meant war with Germany, and so America enters into World War II.

Conspire.com Judgment: Undetermined. Whether FDR had advance knowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor cannot be determined at this time. Too many documents have been destroyed and damaged since the original attack, and some are still unreleased. For the sake of the more than 2,300 servicemen who lost their lives in Hawaii on December 7, 1941, we hope there wasn’t advance knowledge that could have saved their lives. That being said, American entrance into World War II came not a moment too soon as Germany had already had control of nearly all of Western Europe since 1939. If America hadn’t fought with the Allies in the war, it would only have been a matter of time before Hitler set his target for North America, bringing the war and devastation with him.

Theory:

Facts: Monroe had relationships with some of the most powerful men in the country and each of them had reasons to want her silenced. Because of this the FBI and CIA had files and kept close tabs on Monroe, not for her own safety but for national security reasons. Monroe also made constant calls to Whitehouse that were unwelcome. On August 4, 1962 Monroe was found dead in her LA home. There was a prescription bottle in the bathroom for strong sedatives but there was no significant trace of pill residue in her system, or any glass of water she would have used to take the lethal dose. Monroe had a relationship with Mafia crime boss Sam Giancana and unbeknownst to her he had her home wiretapped for months as a means of keeping tabs on her. At the time of her death Monroe was addicted to both alcohol and prescription medications. Recently, legal documents have surfaced revealing that the Kennedy family promised to deposit $600,000 in the name of Marilyn Monroe to her mother, Gladys Baker. After Monroe’s death the deposit didn’t happen and all references to it were hidden. Bobby Kennedy was also in LA the night Monroe died.

Unanswered Questions: The wiretaps that Sam Giancana kept on Monroe have never been released but there are many rumors that circulate about what they may contain about the night of her death. Conspiracy theorists believe that the tapes contain an argument between Bobby Kennedy and Monroe on the night she died and that escalated to a physical level.  It’s unknown specifically why Giancana wiretapped her, but it may possibly have been his way of gaining control over the Kennedys.

Ideas: After sharing the same bed with the president, RFK’s prosecutor, and various members of the Mafia, including Sam Giancana, Monroe knew things that could destroy the most powerful group of people in the U.S. Many conspiracy theories believe that the death of Marilyn Monroe was at the hands of the powerful Kennedy family. Some say that Monroe had information that John Kennedy was elected with Mafia boss Sam Giaconda’s help and that she threatened to go public with that information if JFK didn’t continue the relationship with her. Some even believe patriarch to the Kennedy clan Joe Kennedy was ultimately responsible because he was power hungry and wanted to avoid scandal. The most widely believed scenario by conspiracy theorists is that Bobby Kennedy, actor Peter Lawford (married to Pat Kennedy) and an unknown man carrying a medical kit entered Monroe’s home. Bobby Kennedy and Monroe had a fight and the actress was injected in the leg with sedatives and her body was then staged to look like a suicide. Other theorists speculate that Monroe may have been pregnant in 1962 and that one of the Kennedy’s was the father.

Conspire.com Judgment: The conspiracy around Marilyn Monroe’s death actually holds water. While it’s true that Monroe was addicted to medications and alcohol, the fact that she was involved with very powerful men who were known to be unscrupulous to get what they wanted or further their careers makes for dangerous company. Monroe did undoubtedly pose a threat to a few important men and because of her documented mental instability, she was likely considered a loose cannon. Conspire.com says that this conspiracy deserves a little more investigation and that we’d give an arm to hear what’s on those wiretaps.

Theory: The Catholic Church has not released the Third Secret of Fatima because it contains a disastrous prophecy of the apocalypse or dissention within the Catholic Church.

Facts: The Three Secrets of Fatima are said to be a series of visions and prophecies allegedly given by the Virgin Mary to three young Portuguese girls starting in May of 1917. According to the official interpretation, the secrets involve Hell, World Wars I and II, and the shooting of Pope John Paul II. Two of the secrets were revealed in 1941 in a document written by Lucia, one of the three girls who saw the Virgin Mary in 1917 (the other two succumbed to influenza), but she hesitated to convey the Third Secret because she was unsure whether God had yet authorized her to act. In 1944 a bishop ordered her to write down the Third Secret; she did so, sealed the enveloped and said that it could not be opened until her death or in 1960, whichever came first because she claimed the message would then appear clearer. She has also stated that she wrote the secret on a single sheet of paper. The text of the Third Secret was released by the Vatican in 2000 and claimed to predict the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II in 1981.

Unanswered Questions: It’s not known why the Vatican waited for 40 years to release the Third Secret. After 1960 passed without the release of the Third Secret speculations arose that it could contain visions of worldwide nuclear annihilation and deep rifts within the Catholic Church among other things. Also, the official statement revealing the secret mentions only a man in white robes who would be assaulted with bullets in a crumbling city; there is no specific mention of a Pope, and in fact, the girls believed in 1917 that the man was the Holy Father. Some who have seen the original handwritten document also claim that the document the Vatican released was only part of the Secret. They claim there are actually two parts to the Third Secret; a four-page vision that was released, and another single page that were the direct words of the Virgin Mary that is still locked away in the vaults of the Vatican. Also, in 1960 a press release from the Vatican claimed the secret would probably never be released as it contained “words which Our Lady confided as a secret”; however the secret released in 2000 contains no direct words from the Virgin Mary, only a vision seen by the girls. Theorists point to this as evidence that the Vatican has yet to release a portion of the Third Secret that contains the direct words of the Virgin Mary. Some theologians believe that the secret concerns an apostasy; Cardinal Ciappi, personal theologian to Pope John Paul II, is quoted by sources as saying, “In the Third Secret it is foretold, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top.”

Ideas: Conspiracy theorists believe that the Third Secret contained on the single sheet of paper refers to the apocalypse, apostasy, or satanic infiltration of the Catholic Church. Numerous witnesses claim they have seen the original letter or have seen the envelope it is contained in and claim it is a single sheet. Lucia, the girl who wrote the Third Secret in 1944 also claims it is written on a single sheet of paper and is reported to have explicitly stated that the Third Secret contains apocalyptic content.

Conspire.com Judgment: We believe the conspiracy surrounding the Third Secret of Fatima to be a valid one, primarily because of the untruths and morally questionable actions by the Catholic Church throughout history, from the selling of absolutions to the handling of molestation charges in recent years; you could say we’ve lost the faith. Too many eye witnesses have come forward stating the text of the Third Secret is contained on one single page as Lucia has also stated. Vatican officials through the years have also released conflicting stories surrounding the Third Secret. That being said, even if the true Third Secret were released, we’re still skeptical of anything claiming to prophesize the future, especially when it may rely on the interpretation of a vision by three young girls.
